Technologies/Techniques
Graston Technique
The Graston Technique, originally developed by athletes, is changing the way clinicians and patients view treatment of acute and chronic soft tissue injuries.
Graston Technique is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The Technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation.

Low Level Laser Therapy
COLD LASERS, are also known as LOW LEVEL LASERS. This technology has been used throughout Europe for many years. We here at Melrose Chiropractic utilize this amazing technology. Cold Laser is low powered. They do not emit heat. Most patients will feel little or no sensation when they are being treated. Among the known effects of Laser Therapy are:
Lasers like ours have been found to be effective for:
- Pain relief
- Reducing inflammation
- Increasing the rate that soft tissue injuries and wounds heal
Functional Objective Testing
We utilize the most widely used and recommended system for objectively quantifying and documenting musculoskeletal, soft tissue, and neurological dysfunction. Computerized range of motion and muscle testing provides the clinical data needed to improve diagnosis and treatment planning and to demonstrate medical necessity to the doctor, patient and insurance companies.
Vibracussor
The Vibracussor is an instrument used along with chiropractic adjustments to relax tense muscles, relieve lymphatic congestion, restore joint motion, reduce post-exertion muscle soreness, release superficial and deep fascia and free adhesions and scar tissue. The Vibracussor delivers waves of percussive impulses deep into the tissues. The benefits include reduction or elimination in the frequency and intensity of musculoskeletal pain, decrease the need for pain medication and greatly improve the ability to participate in activities of normal daily living.
Adjustments with ArthroStim Instrument (Gentle Adjustments)
The ArthroStim is an FDA approved instrument developed by IMPAC technology in Oregon. It introduces energy/force/information to the body to realign segments and remove nerve pressure at a speed of 12 "taps" per second (12 hertz); it is a fast, accurate, low force and controlled adjustment.
The ArthroStim gives patients a very specific adjustment, meaning that only the segment that is out of position is adjusted; there is no twisting, turning or "cracking" of joints. This technique permits adjusting in different postures.
After the adjustment, most people report a feeling of ease, relaxation and well-being as their structural nerve stress (subluxations) releases/diminishes.
Custom-Made Orthotics (Pelvic/Spinal Stabilizers)
Your feet are the foundation of your body. They support you when you stand, walk, or run. And they help protect your spine, bones, and soft tissues from damaging stress as you move around. Your feet perform better when all their muscles, arches, and bones are in their ideal stable positions.
The foot is constructed with three arches which, when properly maintained, give exceptional supportive strength. These three arches form a supporting vault that distributes the weight of the entire body.
If there is compromise of one arch in the foot, the other arches must compensate and are subject to additional stresses, which usually leads to further compromise.
It’s a chain reaction.
Healthcare professionals know alleviating pain in one part of your body often requires treating a different part. The pain you feel in your neck could be caused by a misalignment in your spine that is caused by unbalanced positioning in your feet. See? It’s a chain reaction.
By stabilizing and balancing your feet, orthotics enhance your body’s performance and efficiency, reduce pain, and contribute to your total body wellness. Orthotics (pelvic/spinal stabilizers) complement your treatment when you stand, walk, and live your active life.
